Vicia ervilia Lectin (VEA) linked to biotin

Vicia ervilia Lectin (VEA) linked to biotin

Currency:

Product code: LEC535-BT

Sugar specificity: Mannose (Man)

Sugar specificity: Mannose (Man)

Additional specificity details: Methyl-α-mannose (MeαMan) ; Man ; Trehalose ; Glc

Structure: Tetrameric lectin of 53 kDa

This lectin is blood group non-specific with sugar specificity for α-mannose and, to a lesser extent, α-glucose residues. Agglutination is inhibited by mannose, glucose, fructose, methyl mannoside, maltose and, α, α ́-trehalose. VEA lectin has similar specificity to the lectin purified from seeds of Vicia Faba. Briefly, VEA can be inhibited by mannose, glucose and the binding is enhanced by Fuca6 on the core GlcNAc-Asn of N glycopeptides. Its specificity is located between ConA and LcH, PSA characteristics.
