Lens culinaris Lectin (LcH) linked to fluorescein

Currency:

Product code: LEC513-FLUO

Sugar specificity: Mannose (Man) ; Glucose (Glc)

Sugar specificity: Mannose (Man) ; Glucose (Glc)

Structure: Mixture of two isolectins, LcH-A and LcH-B, each with a molecular weight of 46 kDa and the same sugar specificity. Each isolectin is a tetramer composed of two different subunits : the a-subunit (Mr 5710) and the b-subunit (Mr 17 570).

The detailed specificity of LcH was also assessed by the hemagglutination inhibition assay using various glycopeptides and by X-ray cristallography. These studies concluded that LcH recognizes core-fucosylated, bi-antennary N-glycans with terminal galactose residues at the nonreducing ends. LcH agglutinates human red blood cells, although this reaction is not blood group specific. According its specificity, LcH is used for Alpha-fetoprotein detection as this glycoprotein is a useful marker for hepatocellular carcinoma.

Laboratory reagent for research and development only. Not for human or animal use.
