ABA is a glycoprotein containing fucose, mannose, galactose and glucosamine glycans residues. ABA agglutinates animal erythrocytes and is known to detect Antigen T. It could also be used in order to isolate subclasses of human IgA. This lectin could be a potential therapeutic tool for inflammatory autoimmune pathologies or even cancer.
