Heteroglycan

Structural description

Caulerpa racemosa is green seaweed of great interest since it has been highlighted antiviral and biological activity evidences.

Extracts from Caulerpa racemosa contain two major polysaccharides which are α(1-4) glucan and sulphated xyloarabinogalactan.

Activities and Uses

Antiviral effects (Chattopadhyay et al., 2007. Carbohydrate Polymers, 68; 407–415).
